2008 International Delirium Congress held last week in Helsinki was a resounding success.  Quality lectures were given by a number of international experts.  Presentations ranged from the difficulty with animal models to a comparative study of delirium assessment tools in critical care.  The keynote lecture topics feature in the September issue of Journal of Psychosomatic research.  The 200 delegates came from a number of disciplines and countries including Australia – but next year its in Leeds.  Do yourself and your patients a favour be there!

Full of up to date articles on delirium written by some of the world’s experts – this September issue of Journal of Psychosomatic research.  Don’t be put off by the journal title this is relevant, informative and practical.  It covers key aspects of the subject from risk factors, detection to the delirium experience.  The editorial is titled “Delirium, Cinderella no more…?”.  Have a look for yourself and your patients.
