This week the Daily Telegraph ran an article on the impact of delirium on patients with Alzheimers Disease. The study they featured was published in the most recent edition of Neurology. It demonstrates what we have all known for sometime - the link between delirium and long-term cognitive impairment is undeniable. Dr Fong showed that the decline in brain function and memory was three times more rapid in patients who developed delirium.
